Jonas Brothers 2009 world tour announced

Hit pop stars the Jonas Brothers are back on stage and touring all around the world! The Jonas Brothers World Tour is already underway in Central and South America with performances in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil lasting through May. According to their official website, the brothers will then move on to a short European leg in mid-June, with dates in Spain, France, and the United Kingdom, before coming back home to the United States. They will tour the United States, with short excursions into Canada, from June 20 to August 31. The trio will cap off the year back in Europe, visiting France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, the U.K. and Ireland. According to a Reuters article about the tour, the Jonas Brothers tour supports their latest studio album, A Little Bit Longer, which was released on August 12, 2008.

The Jonas Brothers first emerged as a dominating force in 2005, but the trio, and especially Nick, were already active in show business as early as 1999, according to MTV News. However, in late 2004, they were signed to Columbia Records as a group, and released their first single, "Mandy," in December 2005. An instant hit at number four on Total Request Live, it paved the way for the release of their debut album, It's About Time, in August 2006. The album's release was limited, and the brothers were dropped by Columbia. They were later picked up by Hollywood Records and released their second album, Jonas Brothers, in August 2007. At number five, it cemented the star status of the group, leading the way to appearances in Disney television shows, two films, and work with other pop stars, including Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and The Cheetah Girls.

2008 proved to be a successful year for the Jonas Brothers, with their release of their third album, and the first to reach number one in the United States. In addition, the year also saw the release of the Camp Rock soundtrack album, a number three charting work, and two popular tours, the Burning Up and Look Me in the Eyes Tour. If this is an indicator of the future, 2009 should look bright for the siblings from New Jersey. Their fourth studio album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Time is due on June 15, during the time of the 2009 Jonas Brothers concerts.
